چکیده
Corrected transposition of the great vessels (atrioventricular discordance and ventricular discordance) is a rare congenital heart disease and is very singular if it is associated with situs inversus viscerum. This is the case in a 65-year-old woman in NYHA functional class II. The NMR image shows the liver (L) on the left side and the spleen (S) on the right side of the abdomen (Figure, top left). The pulmonary artery (PA) is posterior to the aorta (AA) (Figure, top right) and is connected to the posterior ventricle, morphologically the left one. Conversely, the aorta (AA) is anterior to the pulmonary artery (PA) and is connected to the anterior ventricle, morphologically the right one (MRV) (Figure, bottom left). The superior and inferior venae cavae are on the left side and are connected to the right atrium (Figure, bottom right). The aortic arch and the thoracic aorta are located on the right side. AA indicates aorta ascendens/aortic arch; AD, aorta descendens; LB, long bronchus; SB, short bronchus; MRV, morphologically right ventricle; SVC, superior vena cava; and IVC, inferior vena cava.

Situs Inversus with Levocardia and Congenitally Corrected Transposition of Great Vessels in a 35 year old Male: A Case report
Situs inversus with levocardia and congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries represents a relatively very rare congenital condition and most patients are diagnosed in infancy or early age. This case report describes a 35-year old man with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries which presented with a five month history of exertional dyspnea. A diagnosis was c...

Situs viscerum inversus totalis is a rare disorder presenting with complete transposition of thoracic and abdominal viscera. It is associated with certain organ anomalies, but it is not a predisposing factor to cholecystolithiasis. To date, fewer than 100 cholecystectomies in patients with situs inversus have been published worldwide. We report a case of a 75-year-old woman referred to our hosp...
متن کاملA heart reversed triply: situs inversus totalis with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries in a middle-aged woman.
Figure 1. Chest radiography demonstrated a normal-sized heart with dextrocardia, right-sided gastric air bubble, aortic knob and descending aorta. The left hemidiaphragm was higher than the right one. This picture was compatible with situs inversus totalis. A 57-year-old woman was well in the past. She suffered mild dyspnea for 2 years. On physical examination, she was found to be normotensive ...
متن کاملSuccessful ERCP in a patient with situs inversus.
Situs inversus viscerum is a rare condition in which the organs are transposed to the opposite side [1]. Endoscopic procedures can be difficult in patients with situs inversus because of the left–right reversal of the visceral organs. We present a patient with choledocholithiasis who had situs inversus. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) was performed with minor modification ...
متن کاملLaparoscopic cholecystectomy for a symptomatic cholelithiasis in a patient presenting situs viscerum inversus totalis. A case report.
INTRODUCTION Situs Viscerum Inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare anomaly with genetic predisposition, in which organs are translated, completely or partially, on the opposite side of the body. Generally there are no organic dysfunctions. Situs Inversus can cause difficulties in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of abdominal diseases because of the mirror-like anatomy. On a clinical point of...
